Heel Spur

A heel spur is a hard, bony deposit of calcium that can build up on the underside of the heel bone. These bony growths are often associated with plantar fasciitis, occurring when the fascia is pulled off the bone of the heel. This leads to a growth of bone developing beneath the heel’s surface. The condition is commonly experienced by those who frequently run and jump, and symptoms include minor pain and discomfort.
